Advertising executive looks forward to strengthening Raleigh housing provider’s brand and online presence
RALEIGH, NC – November 12, 2012 – The Preiss Company is proud to announce the recent promotion of Amy Barger to Vice President of Marketing. In her new role, Barger will work across the company’s housing portfolio to launch 34 websites and mobile websites within the next six months, as well as develop and strengthen relationships with new marketing partners. The new websites will have streaming social media newsfeed.
During her 16-year career, Barger has negotiated sports marketing contracts with multiple universities, created marketing budgets for all of the company’s new properties, managed all corporate branding and advertising initiatives, launched the social media platform for the company’s entire housing portfolio, and managed third-party vendors. She will continue to perform all of these responsibilities, as well as assume increased visibility and participation at national trade conferences. Barger says that the company’s rapid growth in the student housing market poses many marketing challenges.
“The Preiss Company currently has 16,000 beds in nine states with new development or acquisition on the table every day,” says Barger. “It’s always a challenge to not only ensure that our current properties are well equipped with the most current and effective marketing collateral available, but to also maintain our corporate visibility and build upon our brand. In this time of economic uncertainty, it certainly is an enviable problem to have.”
Company founder and CEO, Donna Preiss, says that Barger is at the point in leading The Preiss Company’s position as an industry leader for social media and paradigm shifting marketing techniques.
“The Preiss Company continues to outperform on social network participation with our target audience and we’ll be the first to bring in new mediums such as Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter,” says Preiss. “As a result of Amy's efforts, we have been able to reduce our marketing expenditures while reaching a more diverse group of students.”
The Preiss Company was recently ranked by Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle’s Top Women-Owned Businesses. The company has also been a multi-year recipient of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce's coveted Pinnacle Business Award, winner of the Metro Bravo Award for Residential Real Estate, and winner of the Triangle Fast 50 Award for fastest growing company.
